is it not fair to say that songs can be classified into sub genre by personal preference ?

meaning?

meaning that, people will define the genre/sub genre to music which only they know to their preference by what they have listened to or been shown ! drum and bass music is characterised by fast breakbeats, typically between 160-180 bpm with heavy bass and sub basslines. i can thing of many many songs to just call 'DnB', hence why people chose to call it the sub genre which they know and this is down to preference :)

it's like in the art class, you have to know the currents in painting and to tell from which current one painting might be. otherwise don't take the class or at least don't raise your hand during the class. you might not agree to certain stuff you get taught but when the exam comes you write down what the teacher told you in class, not your personal opinion.

yeah i know rules are for mediocre people, but we're tens of thousands here, we can't all be geniuses

maybe, spend 30mins on each subsection to analyze what kind of stuff is posted there to get an idea of how each subgenre sounds and then post your lovely song, no? :)

No Offense to anybody but I have to strongly agree that if you don't know what certain types of music are then you should find out. I just started on this site and there is random tracks posted all over. Sometimes it is cool when I find a kick ass Glitch track in the Garage section but it's not the way it is suppose to work. Other than that I have been in the scene for a while and this site and everyone involved I have mad respect for. DJ's, producers, and members included.
